About Howland United Methodist Church
Howland United Methodist Church is not just a church building; it is people.
We have a phenomenal staff, but they would be the first to tell you that they can’t do everything themselves.
We also have a wonderful number of people who volunteer their time to keep the church going and growing, and we greatly appreciate their time and talents shared.

Safe Sanctuary at HUM
Our church strives to provide “Safe Sanctuary” for all God’s children. We are seeking ways to improve and better implement “Safe Sanctuary” guidelines to protect our children, youth and adults in order to make our congregation a safe place where everyone may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith. God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from abuse. God calls us to create communities of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong. (From The Book of Resolutions of the United Methodist Church-1996 pgs 384-386) You can read all about our Safe Sanctuary policies in our Policy Manual.
